These Terms & Conditions apply to purchases made from WoodFloors4U through our website, showroom, telephone, email or other sales channels.
Customers should read these Terms carefully before purchasing, accepting delivery or installing flooring.
Particular attention should be given to the sections covering inspection before installation, moisture testing, FID/environmental monitoring, subfloor preparation, acclimatisation, underfloor heating, kerbside delivery, manufacturer warranties and warranty exclusions.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts a consumer’s statutory rights where those rights cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.

2. APPLICATION OF THESE TERMS
These Terms apply to flooring, accessories and related products supplied by WoodFloors4U.
Product-specific technical information, installation instructions, care instructions and manufacturer warranty documentation may impose additional requirements. Where a product has specific requirements, those requirements must be followed.
The customer is responsible for ensuring that anybody installing the flooring is provided with the relevant installation instructions and understands the requirements before installation begins.
3. PRODUCT INFORMATION
WoodFloors4U takes reasonable care to ensure product descriptions, specifications, dimensions, photographs and other product information are accurate.
Flooring is nevertheless subject to reasonable manufacturing tolerances and, in the case of natural products, natural variation.
Wood flooring may legitimately vary in:
- colour
- shade
- tone
- grain
- knots
- sapwood
- mineral markings
- filler
- texture
- board length
- surface characteristics
- pattern
- general appearance
These characteristics are inherent in natural timber and do not necessarily constitute manufacturing defects.
4. NATURAL COLOUR AND APPEARANCE
Wood is a natural material. No two boards are necessarily identical.
Natural timber may change appearance following exposure to sunlight, UV light, oxygen, heating, environmental conditions, cleaning products, normal ageing and normal use.
Such reasonable natural changes are not manufacturing defects.
5. PHOTOGRAPHS, SCREENS AND SAMPLES
Product photographs are intended to provide a reasonable representation of the flooring. Colours displayed on phones, computers and other screens may differ from the physical product.
Samples represent only a small section of a floor and cannot display every variation that may occur across a full installation.
Customers concerned about colour, grade, texture or finish should obtain and inspect a sample before ordering. A sample does not mean that every board supplied will be visually identical.
6. PRODUCTION BATCHES
Flooring manufactured at different times may vary slightly in colour, shade, dimensions, surface texture, finish or other manufacturing characteristics.
Customers should order sufficient flooring for the entire project, including appropriate wastage and spare material.
WoodFloors4U cannot guarantee that flooring ordered subsequently will be from the same manufacturing batch or will exactly match flooring previously supplied.
7. ORDER QUANTITIES AND WASTAGE
The customer is responsible for ordering sufficient flooring unless WoodFloors4U has expressly undertaken a professional measuring/quantity service.
Customers should allow appropriate wastage. The required wastage depends upon room dimensions, layout, board dimensions, installation direction, cutting requirements, pattern, borders, stairs and complexity of installation.
Herringbone, chevron, parquet and other patterned installations generally require greater wastage allowances than conventional plank installations.
Customers are encouraged to retain spare boards after installation for possible future repairs.
8. CHECK YOUR ORDER BEFORE INSTALLATION
THIS IS AN IMPORTANT CONDITION.
Before installation begins, the customer and/or installer must inspect the flooring. Checks should include:
- correct product
- quantity
- dimensions
- colour
- shade
- grade
- finish
- pattern
- batch information
- visible damage
- manufacturing defects
- tongue-and-groove profiles
- click/locking systems
- suitability for the intended installation
Several packs should be opened and inspected where appropriate.
Natural timber boards should be blended between packs during installation to produce a balanced overall appearance.
9. DO NOT INSTALL AN APPARENTLY DEFECTIVE PRODUCT
If an apparent defect or incorrect product is identified before or during installation, installation of the affected material should stop immediately.
WoodFloors4U should be contacted before further affected material is installed. Customers should provide photographs and retain the affected boards and packaging.
A customer or installer should not knowingly continue installing material displaying an obvious defect where doing so would unnecessarily increase the resulting loss.
Installation does not automatically remove statutory rights. However, continuing installation after an obvious problem has been identified may be relevant when determining whether additional installation/removal costs were reasonably incurred.
10. INSTALLER RESPONSIBILITY
Where the customer independently appoints an installer, that installer is responsible for assessing the site and carrying out the installation correctly.
The installer should confirm before installation that the flooring is suitable; the building and subfloor are ready and suitable; the subfloor is sufficiently flat; moisture levels and environmental conditions are acceptable; appropriate expansion provision is possible; the correct adhesive, underlay, DPM and primer are being used; underfloor heating is compatible; manufacturer instructions have been reviewed; and installation can proceed safely.
An independent installer appointed by the customer does not become WoodFloors4U’s employee, agent or subcontractor merely because WoodFloors4U supplied the flooring or provided the installer’s details.
WoodFloors4U is not responsible for defective workmanship by an independent installer appointed by the customer. Where WoodFloors4U itself contracts to provide installation, applicable statutory rights remain unaffected.
11. SITE CONDITIONS
Flooring should not be installed until the property is appropriately ready to receive flooring.
The building should be weather-tight, appropriately heated where necessary, free from active leaks, sufficiently dry, free from excessive construction moisture and maintained within appropriate environmental conditions.
Wet trades such as plastering and screeding should be completed and sufficiently dry before flooring installation.
12. SUBFLOOR CONDITION
Before installation, the installer must establish that the subfloor is sufficiently dry, flat, level within applicable tolerances, clean, sound, stable, structurally suitable, free from excessive movement, free from contaminants and suitable for the chosen flooring system.
Any necessary levelling, screed repair, plywood installation, priming, damp-proofing or other preparation should be completed before flooring is installed.
13. MOISTURE TESTING - CRITICAL INSTALLATION REQUIREMENT
Flooring must not be installed over a screed, concrete or other moisture-sensitive substrate without appropriate moisture assessment/testing.
Visual inspection alone is not sufficient to establish whether a screed or concrete subfloor is sufficiently dry.
The installer must undertake an appropriate recognised moisture test using suitable and correctly functioning equipment.
Where applicable, this should include use of an appropriate flooring hygrometer / hygrometer box system or another recognised test method appropriate to the substrate and flooring.
Testing must comply with the requirements applicable to the flooring, substrate, adhesive and installation system. The manufacturer’s specified moisture limit takes priority.
14. FID BOX / ENVIRONMENTAL MONITORING
Where required for the flooring or installation system, appropriate FID box/environmental monitoring equipment, hygrometers, data loggers or equivalent measuring devices must be used.
The purpose is to establish and retain evidence of the environmental conditions surrounding the installation.
Records should include, where applicable:
- relative humidity
- ambient temperature
- flooring moisture content
- subfloor moisture
- dates and times
- test locations
- equipment used
- readings before installation
- underfloor-heating status
We strongly recommend that photographs or electronic records of all readings are retained for the duration of the manufacturer warranty.
Failure to undertake required moisture/environmental testing may affect a manufacturer warranty claim where the failure is relevant to the alleged problem.
15. DAMP SUBFLOORS
Flooring must not be installed directly onto a subfloor exceeding the permitted moisture level.
Where readings exceed permitted limits, installation must stop until the substrate has sufficiently dried or an appropriate approved moisture-control/DPM system has been installed in accordance with the relevant manufacturer’s instructions.
Installing flooring over an inadequately dry substrate can cause cupping, lifting, swelling, warping, delamination, joint failure, adhesive failure, mould, movement and permanent damage.
Damage caused by excessive substrate moisture or inadequate moisture protection is not a manufacturing defect.
16. MOISTURE RECORDS
Customers should ensure their installer records moisture readings before installation.
For any moisture-related manufacturer warranty claim, the customer may be asked for relevant installation records, including subfloor moisture readings, atmospheric readings, FID/environmental monitoring records, flooring moisture readings, DPM details, photographs and installation dates.
Where such evidence is reasonably necessary to determine whether the manufacturer’s installation conditions were met, failure to provide it may affect the manufacturer’s ability to validate the claim.
17. ACCLIMATISATION
Flooring must be stored and acclimatised in accordance with the instructions applicable to the specific product.
Customers should not assume that every type of flooring requires the same acclimatisation period.
Where acclimatisation is required, the manufacturer’s instructions concerning duration, packaging, stacking, room conditions, temperature and humidity must be followed.
Damage caused by incorrect storage or acclimatisation is not a manufacturing defect.
18. EXPANSION GAPS
Appropriate expansion provision must be provided wherever required by the manufacturer, including where applicable around perimeter walls, doorways, columns, pipes, kitchen islands, thresholds, adjoining rooms, fixed furniture and other fixed structures.
Movement/transition profiles must be installed where required.
Failure to provide sufficient expansion provision can cause lifting, buckling, joint failure or other damage. Such damage is not a manufacturing defect.
19. FLOATING FLOORS
Floating floors must be able to move as designed and must not be permanently trapped or restricted contrary to manufacturer instructions.
Where prohibited by the manufacturer, floating flooring must not be trapped beneath kitchen units, kitchen islands, fitted wardrobes, fixed cabinetry, partition walls or other permanently fixed structures.
Problems resulting from restricting a floating floor are not manufacturing defects.
20. GLUE-DOWN INSTALLATIONS
For glue-down installations, the installer must use products compatible with the flooring and substrate, including where applicable adhesive, primer, smoothing compound, levelling compound and damp-proof membrane.
Products must be used according to their manufacturers’ instructions. Damage caused by inappropriate products or incorrect application is not a flooring manufacturing defect.
21. UNDERFLOOR HEATING
Flooring may only be installed over underfloor heating if the specific product is approved for such use.
The heating system must be appropriately installed, commissioned and tested.
Applicable instructions concerning maximum surface temperature, heat output, commissioning, screed drying, moisture testing, adhesives, underlay, temperature increases, temperature decreases and thermal resistance must be followed.
Where the flooring manufacturer specifies a maximum floor temperature, that temperature must not be exceeded. Temperature should be changed gradually where required.
Damage caused by excessive heat, thermal shock, incorrect commissioning or improper operation of underfloor heating is not a manufacturing defect.
22. SPC / RIGID CORE FLOORING
SPC flooring must be installed according to the specific manufacturer’s instructions.
The subfloor must still be sufficiently dry, flat, sound, stable and properly prepared.
Where SPC contains an integrated underlay, no additional underlay should be installed unless expressly approved for that specific product.
Using unsuitable additional underlay may result in excessive movement and locking-system failure.
23. “WATERPROOF” SPC
Where SPC is described as waterproof, this refers to the product’s resistance to water under its intended conditions of use.
It does not mean the complete flooring installation constitutes a structural waterproof membrane, tanking, a damp-proof membrane or protection against building water ingress.
It does not protect against damage arising from flooding beneath the floor, persistent water ingress, hydrostatic pressure, damp substrates, plumbing leaks, mould beneath flooring or water damage to the building/substrate.
24. WET AREAS
Flooring must only be installed in bathrooms, utility rooms and other moisture-prone areas where that particular product is approved for such use.
The customer should not assume that engineered or solid timber is suitable for bathrooms or other wet environments unless expressly confirmed.
25. MAINTENANCE
Flooring must be maintained according to the applicable care instructions.
Unless expressly approved, customers should avoid steam cleaners, excessive water, soaking/mopping excessively, harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, unsuitable oils, unsuitable waxes, unsuitable polishing products and abrasive machinery.
Spillages should be dealt with promptly.
26. PROTECTION FROM DAMAGE
Appropriate furniture protection should be used.
Customers should take reasonable measures to protect flooring against furniture legs, castors, grit, stones, high heels, pet claws, dragged furniture, sharp objects, excessive impact and other foreseeable physical damage.
Such damage is not a manufacturing defect.
27. MANUFACTURER WARRANTY PERIODS
Subject to the individual product specifications and manufacturer warranty terms, qualifying products carry the following manufacturer warranties:
WOOD FLOORING
- Residential use: 25-year manufacturer warranty
- Light commercial use: 10-year manufacturer warranty
SPC FLOORING
- Residential use: 20-year manufacturer warranty
- Light commercial use: 10-year manufacturer warranty
The warranty period begins from the original purchase date unless the relevant manufacturer documentation states otherwise.
These warranties are additional to statutory consumer rights.
28. RESIDENTIAL USE
Residential use means ordinary domestic use within a private residential property.
The residential warranty does not apply merely because flooring is physically installed in a residential building if it is actually being subjected to commercial use.
29. LIGHT COMMERCIAL USE
Light commercial use means lower-traffic commercial use for which the particular product is expressly suitable.
The 10-year light commercial warranty does not automatically mean every product is suitable for every commercial premises.
High-traffic commercial, industrial or otherwise unsuitable environments are excluded unless expressly approved for that particular flooring.
Commercial customers should confirm suitability before ordering.
30. WHAT THE MANUFACTURER WARRANTY COVERS
The manufacturer warranty applies to qualifying manufacturing defects occurring during the applicable warranty period, subject to its terms.
A manufacturer warranty is not an insurance policy against damage.
A 25-year, 20-year or 10-year warranty does not mean the flooring is guaranteed to remain visually unchanged or immune from ordinary wear, misuse or damage throughout that period.
31. WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS
Subject always to statutory rights, the manufacturer warranty does not cover problems caused by matters other than a covered manufacturing defect, including:
- accidental damage
- deliberate damage
- customer damage
- installer damage
- poor workmanship
- incorrect installation
- failure to follow installation instructions
- incorrect flooring selection
- inappropriate use
- failure to moisture test
- excessive subfloor moisture
- damp or rising damp
- water ingress
- flooding
- leaks
- condensation
- mould caused by site conditions
- inappropriate humidity
- incorrect FID/environmental conditions
- inadequate subfloor preparation
- uneven subfloors
- structural or substrate movement
- substrate cracking
- incorrect acclimatisation
- incorrect storage
- inadequate expansion gaps
- missing movement profiles
- trapped floating flooring
- incorrect adhesive, primer or DPM
- unsuitable underlay
- additional SPC underlay where prohibited
- improper underfloor heating
- excessive floor temperatures
- thermal shock
- scratching or scuffing
- dents, cuts or impact chips
- burns or stains
- furniture damage
- pet damage
- high-heel damage
- sand/grit abrasion
- steam cleaning
- excessive cleaning water
- inappropriate cleaning chemicals
- neglect or misuse
- modification
- inappropriate repairs
- excessive UV/sunlight exposure
- reasonable natural colour changes
- oxidation
- natural timber variation
- ordinary seasonal expansion/contraction
- abnormal wear
- commercial use exceeding the applicable classification
- fire
- flood
- structural failure
- circumstances outside the flooring product itself
32. WARRANTY CLAIM DOCUMENTATION
A customer making a manufacturer warranty claim may be asked to provide information reasonably required to investigate the cause, including:
- proof of purchase
- order number
- product information
- batch labels where available
- photographs
- videos
- installation date
- installer details
- installation photographs
- moisture-test results
- FID/environmental records
- temperature/humidity records
- DPM details
- adhesive details
- underlay details
- underfloor-heating information
- maintenance information
Reasonable access may also be required for inspection.
33. DO NOT DESTROY EVIDENCE
Where a significant defect is alleged, customers should not remove, dispose of or destroy all affected flooring before WoodFloors4U/manufacturer has had a reasonable opportunity to investigate, unless removal is reasonably necessary for safety or to prevent further damage.
Affected boards, packaging and batch labels should be retained where reasonably possible.
34. DELIVERY SERVICE
Unless expressly agreed otherwise, delivery dates and times are estimates.
Customers should not book installers or other trades to commence work until the flooring has actually been delivered and checked.
WoodFloors4U is not responsible for losses that it is not legally responsible for arising merely because a customer booked contractors before an estimated delivery occurred.
Nothing in this section restricts statutory rights concerning delivery.
35. KERBSIDE DELIVERY - IMPORTANT
UNLESS EXPRESSLY AGREED OTHERWISE, FLOORING AND PALLETISED ORDERS ARE DELIVERED KERBSIDE ONLY.
Because flooring orders are typically large and heavy, delivery may be made by Luton van, rigid HGV, articulated vehicle, tail-lift vehicle or another suitable commercial delivery vehicle.
Kerbside delivery means the driver will deliver the pallet/order to the nearest safe and reasonably accessible kerbside point to the delivery address.
Delivery does not include carrying flooring into the property, through the front door, upstairs, downstairs, into garages, into gardens, through narrow passages, into lifts, into individual rooms or to the final installation location, unless such an additional service has expressly been agreed in writing.
36. CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITY AFTER KERBSIDE DELIVERY
The customer is responsible for arranging sufficient capable persons and/or appropriate equipment to move the flooring from the kerbside delivery point into safe storage.
Flooring packs can be heavy. Customers should not rely upon the delivery driver to manually carry flooring into the property.
The customer should ensure that the flooring can be moved promptly from the kerbside and is not left exposed to rain, standing water, excessive sunlight, traffic, theft, unsuitable temperatures or other environmental risks.
Nothing in these Terms transfers risk to a consumer earlier than permitted by applicable law.
37. ACCESS FOR DELIVERY VEHICLES
The customer must tell WoodFloors4U before dispatch if there are access restrictions that could prevent or materially hinder delivery.
This includes narrow roads, low bridges, weight restrictions, height restrictions, controlled parking zones, restricted access, pedestrianised streets, unmade roads, steep gradients, narrow entrances, weak driveways, road closures, building-site restrictions, restricted delivery hours and any other relevant access issue.
The delivery driver/carrier determines whether unloading can be carried out safely. Drivers are not required to take a vehicle onto private property or any location they reasonably consider unsafe or unsuitable.
38. PALLET TRUCK LIMITATIONS
Pallet deliveries may require the use of a manual pallet truck.
Pallet trucks generally require a sufficiently firm, level and suitable surface and may not operate appropriately on gravel, grass, mud, loose stones, steep slopes, steps, uneven ground or soft surfaces.
Where the customer’s property has such conditions, delivery may take place at the nearest safe accessible kerbside point.
39. DRIVEWAYS AND PRIVATE PROPERTY
A delivery driver is not required to enter a private driveway.
If, at the customer’s request, a driver agrees to enter private property, this is subject to the driver’s/carrier’s assessment of safety and accessibility.
Customers are responsible for identifying any known access limitations, weak surfaces, underground structures, low structures or other hazards before the vehicle enters.
Nothing in this section excludes liability which cannot lawfully be excluded.
40. SOMEONE MUST BE AVAILABLE
Where attendance is required, the customer must ensure an appropriate person is available to receive the order during the agreed delivery period.
That person should be capable of checking the delivery and arranging movement of the goods from the kerbside.
41. MISSED DELIVERIES
Where delivery cannot reasonably be completed because nobody is available where attendance was required, access information supplied by the customer was incorrect, the customer failed to disclose a material access restriction, or the customer refuses conforming, undamaged goods without a legal basis, the customer may be responsible for reasonable additional storage, return or redelivery costs where permitted by law.
Any such charge will not affect rights relating to genuinely faulty, damaged or non-conforming goods.
42. DELIVERY INSPECTION
Customers should inspect the external condition of the delivery as soon as reasonably possible.
Where packaging or flooring appears damaged, customers should where possible photograph the pallet before unpacking, photograph damaged packaging and affected flooring, note visible damage on the driver’s paperwork/electronic delivery record where possible, and contact WoodFloors4U promptly.
Signing a delivery note does not remove statutory rights. Similarly, failing to identify concealed damage at the kerbside does not automatically remove statutory rights.
43. MISSING GOODS
Customers should check the quantity delivered against the order as soon as reasonably practicable.
Any apparent shortage should be reported promptly so that WoodFloors4U can investigate with the carrier/warehouse.
44. STORAGE AFTER DELIVERY
Flooring must be moved into appropriate storage following delivery.
Unless expressly permitted by the manufacturer, flooring should not be stored outside, uncovered, in damp garages, in sheds, directly on wet floors, near active wet trades, in extreme heat/cold or in other unsuitable environments.
Damage occurring because flooring was improperly stored after delivery is not a manufacturing defect.
45. COLLECTIONS
Customers collecting flooring are responsible for providing a vehicle with sufficient capacity and appropriate load security.
The customer/driver is responsible for ensuring the vehicle is suitable and that the load does not cause the vehicle to exceed legal weight or safety limits.
WoodFloors4U may decline to load goods where it reasonably considers the proposed vehicle or loading arrangement unsafe.
Once goods are collected by a consumer or a person identified by the consumer to take possession, risk passes in accordance with applicable law.
46. DISTANCE-SALE CANCELLATION RIGHTS
Where applicable, consumers purchasing online, by telephone or through another distance-selling method generally have a statutory cancellation period.
For most qualifying goods, the period ends 14 days after the day the consumer, or a person nominated by the consumer, takes physical possession of the goods, subject to applicable legislation.
Where an order is delivered in separate consignments, the applicable period may run from receipt of the last relevant consignment.
47. BESPOKE / PERSONALISED GOODS
Statutory change-of-mind cancellation rights generally do not apply to goods genuinely made to a customer’s specifications or clearly personalised, subject to applicable law.
This may include flooring manufactured, coloured, finished, sized or otherwise produced specifically to an individual customer’s agreed specification.
This does not remove rights where bespoke goods are faulty, not as described or otherwise fail to conform to the contract.
48. CHANGE-OF-MIND RETURNS
For eligible change-of-mind returns, the customer must take reasonable care of the goods.
The customer may be responsible for diminished value resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods, as permitted by law.
Where permitted and properly disclosed, the customer is responsible for the direct cost of returning cancelled goods.
Flooring is heavy and palletised returns can be expensive.
49. OPENED PACKS
Opening packaging does not automatically remove statutory cancellation or faulty-goods rights.
However, where handling exceeds what would reasonably be permitted when examining goods and causes diminished value, WoodFloors4U may make an appropriate deduction where legally permitted.
Discretionary returns outside statutory rights may be subject to different conditions.
50. DISCRETIONARY RETURNS AND RESTOCKING
Where statutory cancellation rights do not apply but WoodFloors4U voluntarily agrees to accept unwanted/excess flooring, the return may be subject to conditions and a reasonable restocking/handling charge agreed or communicated to the customer.
No restocking fee will be imposed where doing so would unlawfully reduce statutory cancellation or faulty-goods rights.
51. END-OF-LINE AND CLEARANCE GOODS
Clearance, discontinued and end-of-line products may have limited or no replacement stock.
Change-of-mind/discretionary returns may be restricted where legally permitted and clearly communicated.
This does not remove statutory rights where goods are faulty, not as described or otherwise fail to conform to the contract.
52. FAULTY GOODS AND STATUTORY RIGHTS
Nothing in these Terms removes statutory consumer rights.
Goods supplied to consumers must comply with applicable legal requirements including satisfactory quality, fitness for purpose where legally applicable and conformity with description.
Where goods do not conform to the contract, statutory remedies may apply independently of any manufacturer warranty.
53. MANUFACTURER WARRANTY VS STATUTORY RIGHTS
The 25-year, 20-year and 10-year manufacturer warranties are contractual/manufacturer warranties.
They are additional to statutory rights.
Manufacturer warranty exclusions relating to installation, moisture, accidental damage and misuse do not permit WoodFloors4U to avoid statutory responsibility for goods which were legally non-conforming when supplied.
54. THIRD-PARTY INSTALLATION COSTS
Customers appointing their own installer are responsible for that contractual relationship.
WoodFloors4U does not automatically accept responsibility for an independent installer’s workmanship, charges or mistakes.
If a product problem becomes apparent, customers should give WoodFloors4U a reasonable opportunity to investigate before unnecessarily incurring substantial removal or reinstallation costs.
Any responsibility for reasonably incurred consequential losses arising from legally non-conforming goods will be determined according to applicable law and the circumstances of the individual claim.
55. INSTALLATION ADVICE
General advice given by WoodFloors4U staff, FAQs, website articles or telephone support cannot replace inspection of the actual site by a competent installer.
WoodFloors4U cannot remotely identify concealed site conditions.
The installer is responsible for site-specific assessment unless WoodFloors4U has expressly contracted to provide that assessment.
Nothing in this provision excludes legal responsibility arising from advice upon which the customer was legally entitled reasonably to rely.
56. MEASUREMENTS
Unless WoodFloors4U expressly undertakes a measuring service, measurements supplied by customers, installers, builders, architects, designers or other third parties remain their responsibility.
Customers should verify measurements before ordering, particularly for bespoke products.
57. COMMERCIAL ORDERS
Customers purchasing flooring wholly or mainly for business purposes may be subject to separate business/trade terms.
Consumer protections that apply specifically to consumers do not necessarily apply to business purchases.
Any additional B2B limitations must be expressly incorporated into the applicable business contract.
58. WARRANTY TRANSFER
Unless expressly stated otherwise by the relevant manufacturer warranty, the manufacturer warranty applies to the original purchaser and original installation location and is not automatically transferable.
59. ALTERATIONS TO FLOORING
Sanding, staining, lacquering, oiling, painting or otherwise modifying flooring may affect manufacturer warranty coverage where the alteration causes or contributes to the claimed failure.
Customers should obtain appropriate advice before altering factory-finished flooring.
60. REPAIRS
Where reasonably possible, customers should contact WoodFloors4U before carrying out significant repairs to flooring potentially subject to a warranty claim.
An unauthorised repair does not automatically extinguish statutory rights, but damage caused by an inappropriate repair is not a manufacturing defect.
61. EVENTS OUTSIDE OUR REASONABLE CONTROL
WoodFloors4U will not be responsible for delay or failure caused by events genuinely outside our reasonable control, subject to applicable statutory rights.
Such circumstances may include severe weather, major transport disruption, industrial action, flooding, fire, governmental restrictions or significant carrier/supply-chain disruption.
We will take reasonable steps to minimise the impact where appropriate.
62. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts liability where doing so would be unlawful.
Nothing excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, statutory consumer rights which cannot legally be excluded, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be restricted.
WoodFloors4U is not responsible for losses to the extent they were caused by matters for which WoodFloors4U is not legally responsible, including customer misuse, independent installer negligence or unsuitable site conditions.
63. DUTY TO MINIMISE AVOIDABLE LOSS
If a problem becomes apparent, customers should take reasonable steps to avoid unnecessary additional damage.
For example, this may include stopping installation, stopping a water leak, protecting remaining unopened flooring, turning off inappropriate heating where safe and contacting WoodFloors4U promptly.
This does not remove statutory rights but may be relevant where avoidable additional losses are claimed.
64. WARRANTY/FAULT INVESTIGATION
WoodFloors4U and/or the relevant manufacturer may reasonably require photographs, video, samples, moisture records, installation records, environmental records and/or physical inspection.
An inspection does not itself constitute acceptance or rejection of liability. The cause must first be reasonably investigated.
65. SPARE FLOORING
Customers are strongly advised to retain spare flooring after installation.
Products, batches and colours can be discontinued or altered.
WoodFloors4U cannot guarantee that an identical batch or replacement product will remain available years after the original purchase.
66. WEBSITE AND TYPOGRAPHICAL ERRORS
WoodFloors4U takes reasonable steps to ensure website information is accurate.
If an obvious genuine pricing, specification or description error occurs, we will contact the customer and deal with the matter in accordance with applicable contract and consumer law.
This clause does not provide WoodFloors4U with an unrestricted right to alter an agreed contract.
67. COMPLAINTS
Complaints should be sent to info@woodfloors4u.co.uk.
Customers should provide where reasonably available their name, order number, contact details, product, quantity affected, explanation of the issue, photographs/videos, installation date, installer details, moisture records and other relevant documentation.
68. GOVERNING LAW
These Terms are governed by the applicable laws of England and Wales.
Consumers retain any mandatory rights relating to applicable law and jurisdiction.
69. SEVERABILITY
If any provision is found unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to operate so far as legally possible.
70. ENTIRE WARRANTY SUMMARY

IF THE INSTALLER CANNOT CONFIRM THE ABOVE REQUIREMENTS APPLICABLE TO THE PRODUCT, INSTALLATION SHOULD NOT PROCEED UNTIL THE ISSUE HAS BEEN RESOLVED.
72. KERBSIDE DELIVERY SUMMARY
ALL STANDARD PALLETISED FLOORING DELIVERIES ARE KERBSIDE UNLESS EXPRESSLY AGREED OTHERWISE.
The customer must disclose access restrictions before dispatch; ensure an appropriate person is available where required; arrange sufficient help/equipment to move flooring; inspect the delivery as soon as reasonably possible; photograph/report visible transit damage promptly; and move flooring into appropriate dry storage.
Drivers are not required to carry flooring inside the customer’s property.
The pallet will be unloaded at the nearest location the driver reasonably considers safe and accessible.
Where a delivery cannot be completed because of customer-supplied incorrect access information, undisclosed restrictions or a missed delivery, reasonable redelivery/return charges may apply where legally permitted.
Nothing in this section affects statutory rights or transfers risk earlier than permitted by law.
73. FINAL IMPORTANT NOTICE
Flooring is a specialist building product whose performance depends upon the product itself and the conditions in which it is stored, installed, maintained and used.
DO NOT INSTALL FLOORING WITHOUT FIRST CHECKING THE PRODUCT.
DO NOT INSTALL OVER A SUBFLOOR THAT HAS NOT BEEN APPROPRIATELY MOISTURE TESTED.
USE APPROPRIATE FID / HYGROMETER / ENVIRONMENTAL MONITORING WHERE REQUIRED.
DO NOT INSTALL APPARENTLY DEFECTIVE FLOORING AND THEN CONTINUE THE INSTALLATION.
RETAIN INSTALLATION, MOISTURE AND ENVIRONMENTAL RECORDS.
FOLLOW THE PRODUCT-SPECIFIC MANUFACTURER INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS.
STANDARD PALLETISED DELIVERIES ARE KERBSIDE ONLY UNLESS EXPRESSLY AGREED OTHERWISE.
Failure to comply with manufacturer installation, environmental or maintenance requirements may result in a manufacturer warranty claim being declined where that failure caused or contributed to the alleged defect.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts rights which cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
