 Herringbone

Herringbone VS Chevron

Even though herringbone and chevron wood floors look very similar with their zigzag shapes, they are actually quite different. With a herringbone floor, standard rectangular wooden blocks are laid in a broken, staggered pattern. Each piece is cut at a 90-degree angle so that the end of one board touches the side of the next one. This creates a classic, step-like look. On the other hand, chevron planks are cut at an angle—usually 45 degrees. When you put them together, the ends meet to form neat, straight "V" shapes that look like little arrowheads pointing in a row. This style gives a very modern, smooth, and symmetrical feel to a room. In short, herringbone gives a traditional and textured look, while chevron offers a sharp, clean, and luxurious design.
